Wheelhouse windows tend to come in all shapes and sizes. When inclined it is sometimes difficult to identify the exact shape. To simplify the process of pricing blinds, we advise clients to simply measure the width (widest point) and depth of the glass, irrespective of shape. From this minimal information, we can provide a firm price. If the price is acceptable, we will ask for more accurate measurements ahead of production. The price will not change regardless of any angled cuts we need to make in the material.

“How to measure”

Window shapes: Parallelograms

We can easily achieve 100% glass coverage on almost all shapes of window. Parallelogram windows pose the biggest challenge. In circumstances where coverage cannot be achieved, Sola-Cure will produce 2D drawings to highlight coverage as a percentage, as well as proposing options to increase glass coverage.

Window shapes: Bottom mounted blinds

We frequently find that windows can be wider at the bottom than at the top. In those circumstances, it may be considered that mounting the cassette at the bottom of the window provides the best solution. The blind is then pulled up to provide shade. Bottom mounted blinds are supplied with constant tension as standard. This ensures tension in the film, and prevents ripples from forming.

The Sola-Cure ranges are suitable for all sizes and shape of window. Below is a list of configurations and a reference code to ensure we supply you with a blind to suit your window perfectly. Product codes starting T-*** are top mounted options, those denoted with B-*** indicate bottom mounted blinds.
